What is domain name transfer?
A domain name transfer is a process to transfer your domain between domain registrars. For example, you may transfer your domain from Godaddy to Techubs or vice versa.
How much for transfering a domain?
After your domain is successfully transfered, your domain expiry date will be extended for 1 year. For example, if your domain expiry date is 4 July, 2019, after transfering, your domain expiry date will be 4 July, 2020.
How to transfer your domain?
To transfer domain, you have to
- Obtain the Authorization Code (Domain Secret Code) from the current registrar.
- Make sure your domain is not locked. If it is locked, you need to unlock it before initiating the transfer.
- Cancel protected or private registration. If your domain has protected registration or private registration, you'll need to cancel it.
- Make sure the domain's administrator contact information is correct. All emails regarding the transfer will go to the administrator's email of the domain name.
Ideally, all of the steps above can be done within the Control Panel provided by your Registrar. In the event that you are not able to do it, you need to contact the Support Team of your Current Registrar for help.
